Khalil Gibran (1883-1931) was a Lebanese poet, artist and writer of great repute. He is known for his writings, both in English and in Arabic, as well as for his paintings. Among his well-known works are The Prophet, Jesus, son of Man, The Madman, Sand and Foam, Broken Wings, A Tear and a Smile, Spirit Rebellious, The Garden of the Prophet, The Beloved, Mirrors of the Soul etc.
Khalil Gibran’s works speak heavily of love and friendship. His concepts on friendship and love, and on giving personal freedom to one another, in any relationship, are hard to implement or follow, even today, almost a century after they were written.
The Author has interpreted forty of his best quotes. These quotes talk of love, of friendship, of the joy or work, of pain and suffering, of dreams, of visions, and of self-discovery and self-mastery.
